What's happening now!!!

The positive and negative work will come to a close as soon as 6th grade returns from Nature's Classroom :) We are starting to work on some new things....Take a look at what's happening now....

5th Grade

Students wrapped up their abstract names and started to practice some drawing skills of 3D forms with inspiration from Wayne Thiebaud. His beautiful artwork got the ball rolling for some fun oil pastel cakes! They are now turning to Eloise Renouf for inspirations to create some fall landscapes. So far the skies have been done :)

6th Grade

Since the students have been gone at Nature's Classroom we are in between projects. They are either finished or starting to wrap up work on their oil pastel sunflowers with warm and cool colors. When they return we will be starting some fun sugar skull projects inspired by Dia de los Muertos!

7th Grade

Last but not least....the seventh graders are wrapping up their abstract silhouettes where they worked with positive and negative space to move on to some architectural studies and pen & ink techniques. Can't wait to display their Haunted Houses!

International Dot Day

All students have been working hard to prepare for International Dot Day. They have done individual and collaborative projects from dot murals and dot mobiles, to dot mandalas. The students have added some color and fun to the school for back to school night. Pics are below!

International Dot Day was inspired by the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. It promotes and celebrates creativity, courage, and collaboration in arts education. Displays are up as of this afternoon.
